Playing Music For Fun: U3A Wind Band
We are wind band of brass, woodwind and saxs, but with plenty of scope for other instruments, and are part of U3A in Chipping Sodbury and Yate (a self-help group).
Our aim is to provide a weekly play for the lower grade of players, in a relaxed, friendly, stress-free manner.
We play a wide selection of music, from folk tunes to 1930s melodies, some classical pieces and some swing and rock numbers.
We meet in the Brimsham Green School Music Centre, off North Road, Yate, during school terms, 4-5.30pm on Thursday afternoons.
The standard is about grade 2-4. There are no entry requirements, so long as your can get a sound from your instrument, and have a basic knowledge in reading simple music. We would welcome new players to fill out the sound.
